Le gingembre est l'herbe la plus polyvalente. Les baies de goji sont faciles a stocker. Pour les soupes medicinales fortes, l'astragale (huang qi) et le dang gui sont les plus importants. On les trouve dans les epiceries asiatiques et ils se conservent des mois dans un recipient ferme.
